First-Time Homebuyer Program

The City of Lake Forest previously participated with other South County cities to offer a First-Time Homebuyer Program called Mortgage Credit Certificate (MCC). The program offered a Federal tax credit of up to 15% of the annual interest paid on a conventional 30-year fixed mortgage loan. In January 2006, the program was put on indefinite hold for Orange County cities and is no longer available.
